Creative Art & Walking Talking Story Part 10

Part One / Part Two / Part Three / Part Four /Part Five Part Six / Part Seven Part Eight / Part NinePart Ten

Part Ten THE WALKING TALKING STORY

Through repetition, the children will have learnt to recite and tell about the story of One Little Caterpillar without the book.

Retell the story together by pointing to different parts of the mural. This is a walking talking story because the children move around as they tell the story, pointing to different parts of a story. Just like they would at an art gallery, viewing a piece of art work. More about walking talking stories in other posts on my blog.

Viewing pieces of art at a gallery requires a certain etiquette to follow. Children can learn these through what Montessori called, grace and courtesy skills. You can read more about this here. This will prepare them for excursions to art galleries.

The Hand From One Little Caterpillar Picture book by Maria Grujicic

This activity is based on the story One Little Caterpillar, By Maria Grujicic

We have come to the end of the beginning of the project. Hence the last page of the book! The children now have a wonderful resource that they can use to create their own stories.

Thank you for reading.
